Division Street’s “Ducks of a Feather” NFT platform connects Oregon student athletes to fans, supporters, and collectors. The platform’s earnings directly benefits Oregon student athletes.
“Flying Formations” is a partnership with the Oregon football team. Tinker Hatfield, a Nike designer and UO alumni, created the 120 original art works.
The auction will begin at 10 a.m. PT on Feb. 20. The revenues from the auction will support the Ducks football team 67.5 percent, Division Street’s aim to develop NIL opportunities for Oregon student athletes 22.5 percent, and a Division Street fund for other athletic teams around the institution.
There will be a tangible pair of UO special edition Nike Air Max 1s made by Hatfield, with a depiction of the unique NFT on the tongue and an autograph from Hatfield, for each one sold.
Ownership of the NFT entitles you to the Air Max sneakers. Each NFT has its own pair of limited edition shoes with its own size and serial number. Owners of NFT shoes will be able to claim their shoes at a later date.
According to the Ducks of a Feather website, each NFT is influenced by Hatfield’s personal experience as a pole vaulter in college before joining Nike.
The creation of Flying Formations was an honour for Hatfield, a former Oregon student-athlete who remembers the spirit of brotherhood that occurs throughout our teams. “Working on something special like this that directly benefits them” is a dream come true for me.
