Records reveal Gibson will offer NFTs of their most popular electric guitar models.
The Les Paul, Flying V, SG, Thunderbird, Explorer, and what seems to be an ES-330 or ES-335 were all trademarked on January 14.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office says the NFT application “covers downloaded multimedia files comprising artwork, text, audio, and video connected to music and entertainment”.
The app does not indicate a debut date for the NFTs or what will be featured in them.
NFTs are now trending in the industry, with both guitar legends (Steve Vai and Keith Richards being recent examples) and firms like ESP getting in on the action.
We don’t know much about Gibson’s NFTs beyond the trademark applications, but keep an eye on Gibson for updates.
