The NYSE has applied to the USPTO to establish an online marketplace for digital products such as NFTs, cryptocurrencies, digital media, and artwork.
If the exchange implements these intentions, it will compete with OpenSea and Rarible.
In April, the NYSE issued its first batch of NFTs, featuring six popular tech firms, including Spotify, Roblox, and Coupang. The exchange stated it was just minting the NFTs for commemorative purposes.
With this recent trademark registration, the NYSE appears to have big intentions for NFTs.
